Congratulations to 2011 Gabrielle’s Angels Grantee Dr. Benjamin Ebert for being selected to receive the coveted Sjöberg Prize for cancer research. This $1M prize was awarded for Dr. Ebert’s groundbreaking discovery of the mode of action of lenalidomide in the treatment of hematological disorders.

The mission of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation has always been to support scientists early on in their careers when they need seed funding to go out and prove their most innovative ideas. Our goal is for all of our grantees to go on to become leaders in their fields and obtain additional support and funding. Over 80% of our grantees go on to receive more grants for their projects, and Dr. Ebert is a perfect example of what happens when you bet on the right people! Congratulations Dr. Ebert and we can’t wait to see what you do next! Read the full feature here.
