“Big Time Adulting’s” Caitlin Murray shared her son Callum’s fight with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, reminding us of why funding research matters.  “When I say that we are the luckiest family, I mean it. When I say I understand the desperation with which so many families would give anything to trade places with us, because they have not been so lucky, I mean it, and that is why I am here today. Leukemia was once a death sentence for children, but with funding and research, cure rates for most childhood Leukemia is over 85%. This is not a miracle, this is a result of what money and science can do as a team, and it is for the families that are not as lucky as we are that I will never, ever stop advocating or fundraising for cancer research, because I cannot bare even the thought of what it might feel like to hear the words that your child has run out of options. I will always do whatever I can to raise more money for this cause. Yes, we always keep hope and we will always dance, and we will always pray for miracles, but I’d rather live in a world where we don’t have to rely on a miracle. As a mom of a cancer patient, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping fundraise for this very worthy cause – you’re making a difference.”
