On November 17th, Gabrielle's Angel Foundation hosted this annual medical symposium in sunny Miami, FL. Sponsored by Foundation Medicine and graciously hosted by our friends at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, this was another exciting day of important scientific breakthroughs, discoveries and progress.
Our nine speakers included Medical Advisory Board Chairman, Stephen D. Nimer, MD; Medical Advisory Board member, Michael A. Caligiuri, MD; and grantees including Juliet Barker and Ross Levine from MSKCC and Tony Letai from DFCI, to name only a few. Lukas Wartman from WashU received a standing ovation after his afternoon presentation about his own leukemia diagnosis and eventual remission. Co-Founder Denise Rich welcomed the assembled and applauded their efforts, vowing to continue funding research until a cure is found.
Special Thanks to our sponsor Foundation Medicine, Sylvester's Jesse Bailey and Paula De La Espriella, and the EPIC's Yoli Hernandez and her entire team for making this a trip to remember.
