Teens Raise $70,000 for Foundation!

07 May 2010

York Prep student, Andrew Warren, and a committee of his high-school friends rallied the troops for the second “Teens Making a Difference!” and raised an incredible $70,000 for the Foundation’s research initiatives.  Sponsored by Rocawear and espace, the event drew over 300 New York area high school students dressed to the nines and ready for a good time.  Teens mingled with celebrities such as Tinsley Mortimer and Jules Kirby (“High Society”), Mark Indellicato (“Ugly Betty”), and Sports Illustrated model Esti Ginsberg.  They munched on donated treats from Pop Burger, Sant Ambroeus, and Serafina with desserts by TLC’s The Cake Boss, Crumbs, and Serendipity 3 who served up their signature frozen hot chocolate.  The night’s entertainment started out with a fashion show then segued to DJ Enferno who kept kids on the dance floor until British singer-songwriter Jay Sean got up and rocked the house with three of his hit singles.  In 2008, this same group of committed young philanthropists raised $40,000 for the Foundation.  Stay tuned for plans for their final senior year event for 2011!
